Backwards… the answer is Backwards!

For those following along, I finished yesterday’s blog saying “stay tuned to find out if we go backwards or forwards today”.  As my scribe writes this, we are in their own house.  Yeah, we went backwards.

However…

We WILL be going forward tomorrow!  So many phone calls today.  I got bored.  I am informed that things have been worked out though.  So tomorrow we try again.

In the meantime enjoy my boredom (8 hours in a Canadian Tire over 2 days is about 7.5 hours too many!)

Bored… bored…

Different view - Didn’t help

I wonder if I can climb inside and get stuff for free?

Rust proofing?  Do I need rust proofing?
Does it prove you have rust?
Bored!

I’m sure Clare and Robin will be more than happy to share with you the insane stories of tow trucks and dealerships and such on their own time.  I don’t care about that stuff.  What I do care about is this new friend of mine!  She saved me from the Canadian Tire!  Sure, she brought me backwards to home instead of PEI, but I’ll take it!

Thank you new friend Jenny!

So, the much smaller car is packed and ready to go in the morning.  My understanding is we are cutting a 3 day drive down to 2 and arriving a day later than expected.  In other words, my scribe is telling you not to expect much of an update tomorrow.  It will be lots of car time and NO stories (sorry Rissa but we’d really like a story-less day this time).

Whatever!

Rissa always liked a good story

My old travelling companion (Rissa) always said stories were the best part of the trip sometimes.  Well do I have a story for her (although she kinda already knows it, but that’s beside the point).

It’s hard to put words to the exact nature of my adventure.  I think I’ll let the pictures (and some captions) do the work.

10:30 am - PEI or bust!

11:30 am - Something is wrong!
I can’t quite see it though

I got to ride in a big truck!  It was amazing!

Canadian Tire - not just for tires
(also for transmissions apparently)

Waiting for a taxi to our hotel
(Yes, we only made it an hour down the road)

The treats we were taking to the friends we were seeing tonight
The bakery lady told us not to share them
I think it’s her fault we didn’t get to!

Stay tuned friends, to see if we get to move forward or backwards an hour tomorrow!
Whatever!

I Stand Corrected

It’s been such a long time since I travelled with Rissa that I forgot that I HAVE been to one other province - Newfoundland!  It was 18 years ago, but I have been.  Sadly I don’t think that matters much to Clare and Robin as this all-of-Canada goal is for them together.  Plus I’ve done a little research and there are some freakin cool places in Canada (yeah Clare has told me that before, but Whatever!)

Clare has also informed me that this bonus blog is to test that nobody is getting the bad-ad versions sent by Follow-It any more.  She’s tried and believes she has cut it off but wants to make sure.  Please let her know if you get this by email and she’ll go scream at her computer some more (I will watch lol)

Whatever!

There are MAPS!!

I may not know how to read them, but I know what they mean!  We are travelling again!

Where to this time?  Not Europe.  *sigh*.  Something about Canada being huge and we should see it first.  I’m not great at math, but I heard there are 10 provinces and 3 territories in this vast country, and we’ve only seen Ontario and Quebec, so um… does that mean it’s going to be 11 years before I get to see Europe?  I’m beginning to think it doesn’t actually exist, and y’all are just messing with me.

I digress… I think if I keep complaining one day Clare and Robin will just leave me at home.  And I AM excited to be going somewhere new, really I am.

So, what’s so exciting about an island, that they decided to take me there for two weeks?  This is the question many have asked both Clare and Robin.  Apparently it is usually seen in a day or two by tourists doing “The Maritimes”.  They get on the island, see all the “Anne” stuff, drive from one end to the other (a whopping 3 hour drive) and get off again.

Not us!  Clare has found so many things that her map and notebook are full and they’ve had a number of discussions of what to drop off the list!  I’m so excited!

Hah!  Clare just pointed out that I haven’t actually named the province I’m going to see.  Well I’ve given enough hints I’ve decided to leave it that way.

On Sunday we ride!

Whatever!
